TXOGA Statement on PUC’s Adoption of an Proposed Order to Develop a Electricity Reliability Plan for the Permian Basin

AUSTIN – Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) President Todd Staples today issued the following statement on the Public Utility Commission’s (PUC) adoption of an proposed order to develop a electricity reliability plan for the Permian Basin:

“After a successful PUC workshop held in Midland earlier this week, the Commission adopted an proposed order for a electricity reliability plan for the Permian Basin with an updated timeline for ERCOT and stakeholders.

“We are grateful for the leadership of Commissioner Cobos as well as the support of Chair Jackson and Commissioners McAdams and Glotfelty. TXOGA remains committed to being an active stakeholder in the implementation of this vital plan to ensure the continued success of the Permian Basin in producing the irreplaceable oil and natural gas that make our modern lives possible.”

Background Context: Earlier this week, TXOGA participated in the workshop held in Midland organized by the PUC. The workshop focused on House Bill 5066 relating to transmission implementation and the development of a electricity reliability plan for the Permian Basin to meet growing energy demand across Texas and the nation by increasing the availability of power for field operations.
